6+ Narragansett Turkey Eggs

Since this thread deals specifically with Narragansett Turkeys, I want to ask here. I've been told that Narragansett's will not successfully mate, until their second year, but that the females may lay eggs their first spring, after being hatched.
Can someone clarify this for me. I feel like I'm a bit confused. I see my jakes acting like they are mating, but only with inanimate objects. I have not been observing them continually, but enough that I see my guineas mating, and obviously my chickens mating, but the jakes, don't even attempt to mate with the hens. They fluff up, gobble, and try to act "manly", even fight each other a bit, but mostly, they act like a bunch of teenaged boys at a high school dance. They want to look and act good, but they ain't "closing the deal" with my hens. The hens, seem to want to hang out with the chickens, and have nothing to do with the jakes.
Just for accuracy, I have 3 jakes and 2 hens, all from the same breeder, all hatched around a week before Memorial Day, 2014. So, they are about 7 months old. We started with 11, harvested 2 at Thanksgiving, and 2 at Christmas, plus donated two, to needy families, for Christmas. All but 2, were males, and we decided to not harvest them, in hopes that one day, we may be set up for, and able to breed. The jakes are just now starting to show their beards....barely. When I pick them up, and feel around for the beards, they feel prominent. But, they are barely visible. The Christmas turkeys, were considerably heavier, than those at Thanksgiving. The Thanksgiving birds dressed out at 10 & 12 pounds. Christmas birds were both about 14. We do have one who seems to be the dominant male, and expect him to be our "keeper" for breeding, but that remains to be seen.
So, can someone clarify what I should expect, for mating, and eggs, and so on?

Ok, I will put you on the notification list :). Narragansetts begin laying later in the season than some other turkeys, but I will notify everyone as soon as I can verify fertility. Thank you!

My beautiful turkey-baby that I hatched from your eggs last year. Hoping to hatch a few girls for him this year. Please add me to your list!
