6 Week Bantam Pair - Breed AND Gender

d’Uccle’s form of the mottling gene doesn’t present like other breeds and can develop later.

A couple have JUST started developing those distinctive white markings (they're 7wks). D'uccles are so pretty, I'm excited!

First is a Mille Fleur d’Uccle and second a Partridge Cochin Bantam. Both are pullets

After looking up these breeds, I think that makes sense. I really hope you're right about them both being pullets! I sure am nervous about the partridge...

Interesting, I only raised show quality d'Uccles and never had them stay so cleanly orange at this age! Crazy how the variation ranges to feed store quality

For the d'uccle... is it normal to have black hackles on a pullet? ALL my other d'uccle cockerels have black hackles already (with prominent combs - they all remind me of a 90s boy band with spiky hairdos). My d'uccle pullets (tiny combs) seem to just be orange on the neck. Photo is of my d'uccle-in-question, now 7wks old. Please tell me it's not a cockerel! My odds with the TSC bantam bin are NOT shaking out in my favor.

Edit: just to be clear, this is the SAME d'uccle as the one pictured in the first set of photos in this thread.

UPDATE:
We're at 9-10 wks now, and the d'uccle is definitely a cockerel! He looks just like all my others, with their spiky red combs. He's a handsome fella now, but he cannot stay. I will be finding him a new home.
The partridge is a pullet. She's a fluffy featherball!
