6 week EE... pullet or roo?

These are my (remaining) 6 week old EEs, Junie and Lucinda. I'm just about positive that Junie, the one on the left, is a pullet. Lucinda ... jury's still out.

Closer pic of Junie, with the wind behind her, ruffling her tail. Yesterday was their first day outside in the new run - they brooder's moved from the house to the garage, but I wanted them to have a chance outside.

Looks so much like the 6 week old that i'm wondering about! (and posted about last week

) Although it's gray and black. The comb is wider on this one, the stance a bit more upright, and it has the most personality. My other one seems so pullet but since they're mutts anyway it's hard to know just by comparing them. But i'm hoping!!!

It's funny....the first bunch of responses I'd gotten about mine were pullet, but as soon as I posted that I was relieved i got a bunch of roo guessers.

I Have one that is suppose to be a pullet too but think its a roo and it's comb is MUCH redder then yours and mine is also 6 weeks old. Now I'm really thinking mine is a roo

siiiiiigh.........I'm leaning more that way, too. Been having a hard time calling "it" by a girl name lately.......then the question is do I get more chicks? I want more than just 1 EE! (that's a good excuse, right?

Totally. My math goes like this "-1 + 2 = 1" And that is totally accurate. Somehow my husband disagrees with me though when applied toward chicks. Do you want some of my SS chicks??? I am getting 10 on Wednesday, but don't think I need to keep them all.

I thought our birds looked alike as well - a little different coloring, but similar shapes and stance.

My other EE was definitely a roo, and so was my Silver Wyandotte. The EE started trying to crow (sounded like rusty door hinges, but a definite Er-er-er-er- ERRRRR! sound), had a very red comb and demanded the primo spot on the little perch I made them.

mmmmmm....those are pretty! I'm trying to convince myself that I should wait and get a few more next year, I think we'll max out around 8 and we already have 6 (or 5). Ahhhhh! Too addicting!
