Someone, please tell me there’s a chance it could be a hen!

More chicks from the same hatching would help.
As is, the pinkness says roo, to me, but the tail says hen.
That’s the thing, this is the only one that hatched. Only one egg in the clutch was fertilized, and that’s this fella - so I really don’t want to have to rehome if it’s a Roo!More chicks from the same hatching would help.

Got a second opinion! My fellow chicken raiser (mother) says it looks like a hen to her. That’s the thing, this is the only one that hatched. Only one egg in the clutch was fertilized, and that’s this fella - so I really don’t want to have to rehome if it’s a Roo!![]()
Woohoo! We’ll see! This makes me more optimisticGot a second opinion! My fellow chicken raiser (mother) says it looks like a hen to her.
No tail (my orpingtons are 4 weeks and *very* obvious in the tail), comb is still small and in my experience roosters start getting leaner at that age.
I'd keep your hopes up!
Thank you! Excited to see how he/she grows up - hoping to see some more white feathers!I have no clue if it's a boy or girl but it is beautiful![]()
