6-week old Black Australorp

At 11 weeks old, I still think male. On most pullets the wattles are about the last thing that develop. This 11 week old chick has wattles.

I know they are different breeds, but my RIR and SLW have wattles that have been present too. With the Australorp, I am watching the feather pattern and comb. The feather pattern looks just like the pullet on the Meyer Hatchery site.

In your first post you said this chick was 6 weeks old. I have some 4 week old Rhode Island Whites. They are Rose Comb but I'll take a picture of a male and a female.

I really think it’s a pullet. I have 3 BA hens and they all had wattles by that age too. The tail feathers look like a pullets and those legs are tiny for a BA roo.
