I have a batch of 6-week-old chicks that have been outside for several weeks now and generally doing well (I'm in Florida so it's been plenty warm). Yesterday I noticed that one of the Easter egger chicks was moving a lot slower than the others. She has poop on her back feathers, but I think it's because she is spending so much time lying down/sitting. Her poop looks normal. She doesn't have any signs of injury, and doesn't have a limp. She can get up and walk relatively normally, but slowly and she sometimes loses her balance. Her wings are drooping a bit. She is eating and drinking on her own.
She's the only chick with these symptoms. They are being fed medicated starter/grower feed, though they have access to the ground and I occasionally let them out to free range for a few minutes at a time. They are being kept right next to the rest of my flock of adult hens and a rooster, none of them are sick either. It's been a typical hot and rainy summer here in Florida, but the chick pen is fully shaded with plenty of ventilation.
I put her in a separate pen with a couple of Polish chicks that were getting picked on so that she's in a calmer environment. I've also added chick electrolytes and vitamins to her water. Is there anything else I can do for her?
