Here are my two chicks, each aged 6 weeks and 4 days old. I think I can conclusively say I have one female and one male because;
- the rooster has large, red comb and wattles. The female has barely any wattle growth, same sized comb, but the forks are smaller and more yellow.
- the pullet enjoys being held and can easily be picked up, while the roo has to be chased and always protests when being picked up.
- when being held, the rooster physically feels bulkier while the pullet feels skinnier
From this I am concluding that my two Columbian Rocks are male and female. Am I correct, or are there indications of one being the opposite sex?
