6 week old EE's

If it makes you feel any better, I think they're all pullets but I haven't seen enough black & white/silver patterns to say that with any certainty.

Wow, possibly 2 out of the 3 are roosters ? Debid , I hope you are right. I'll let you know how it all turns out. I ordered 11 pullets and an extra. I know the 2 packing peanuts are probably roosters (wish they hadn't done that) and the unsexed "extra" is probably a rooster, so I may end up with 5. I thought I might keep 1 and my sister can take 1. We thought with the extra and the 90% rule, it would be ok. This is going to be hard, but I'll wait a while.

#1 Definitely a pullet, boys don't look like that.
#2 Definitely a roo, no question on that one.
#3 Possibly a pullet. Doesn't have the reddish patches on the wings and has a more even pattern. Could still be a roo, but I'm pretty sure it's not.

Thanks Everyone. So seems pretty certain #2 is a roo, Dang! Funny, but I thought #3 was a roo for certain because he was the last to get tail feathers. Well I'll deal with it. Just wish they could be sexed more like mammals!

I'm pretty sure all 3 are pullets. The color pattern on #1 and #2 is female and the red coloring that is being noticed on #2 is on her chest and sides, not on the wingbows / shoulders, like EE males have. #3 also looks like a pullet - she doesn't have quite as definite of that female EE pattern, but her comb is pretty small and so far, no signs of her being a roo.

Aha -- so I'm not the only crazy chicken person who thinks the red-brown on 2 isn't in the "right" places (nor intense enough) for a boy (where's Illia?) And #3 -- if it were gold in place of silver, nobody would think that was a boy! That's what makes me think 3 is female. #1 looks exactly like so many other EE pullets that even with a little pink in the comb, I still think girl.

True....where IS Illia...there is your expert......hang on, there still may be hope they are all pullets.....give it a week or two more!

I agree. 1 is pullet for sure. No doubt about her. 2 -- the red is not on the shoulders, it's on the sides of the wings and the breast. I say pullet. And 3 as well. On top of all that, their combs are nowhere near big enough for a 6 week old cockerel.

So all I say all three are pullets. (But we do need Illia!)
