#1 is an obvious girl.

#2 I know looks convincingly like a boy but actually has more girl traits than boy traits. Personally I'd need to inspect that chick's feathers myself to tell for sure but it's a really tough one. I'm gonna say girl though, but don't hold me to it.

The first photo looks like a boy, the second one screams girl, the third one is just on the borderline between both but more girly.

#3 is also a toughie, but again I'm gonna go with girl. A little more sure on this one.

Thank You Illia. Can you tell me what I should look for in the next few weeks to be a little more certain now that I have something to go on.

If the second one gets any more truly red feathers at the base of the tail or on the back, right between the wings - Or any more red right on the wrists and elbows of the wings, it's likely a boy. Female Silver Duckwings are allowed and notable by salmony red on the breast, often leaking to the outer edges of the wings like her, and sometimes it leaks through the rest of the body, but if it gets serious where a normal duckwing male would have it (back and wings) then it's likely gonna be a boy, but that breast would need to get some black in it too.

The third one, so long as it keeps up a black and white patterning I'd call it a girl. Any questionable yellow or red would make a boy with that columbian pattern.

A little OT but can you recommend any books for people who know nothing about chicken genetics and want to learn (and who took a genetics class in college so the language isn't entirely foreign)?
