First time chicken mom and I’m hoping we have all pullets. We can’t have any roosters here, unfortunately. The two that appear to have Leghorn in them have been exhibiting more and more cockerel-type behaviors, but I’m on the fence about their wattles and combs. Any thoughts?

Yes, sorry! I had to register for an account and it posted when I navigated away
Just edited to include pictures.
I didn't know that would happen, but it suddenly explains why new posters so often end up with a double-post, one with photos and one without!

I see 7 photos, and the 5th photo has a very obvious cockerel. His nice red pea comb is right up by the camera. I think he's part Legbar (not Leghorn. Different breed.)

How many total chicks are there?

Nooo! There are 4 total. The two darker ones and then the two Legbar (thank you for the correction).

Of the part-Legbar ones, the one in photo 5 looks very much male to me.

In photo 2, I think he's the one in the back (closer to the person), so the other one is in front. I'm not sure about the one in the front-- could be a female, could be a male that is developing a bit more slowly. A few more weeks will probably make it more obvious on way or the other.

We can’t have any roosters here, unfortunately.
It's time to figure out what to do with him.

Personally, I like to eat cockerels, but many people prefer to rehome ones that they have raised and are fond of.

Unfortunate. We absolutely love all of their personalities, but we did know going into this that there was a possibility. Not sure we could even keep him to an age worth eating, so we’ll be looking to rehome.

Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!
