Hi all,

This one has been feathering out weird from the beginning. At first I thought it was just a dry patch and I was putting coconut oil on it, but it just seems to be super slow in feathering out. Is this normal, or is there anything I can do to fix her up?

Soooo much space, truly. I really don't think it's that, and I've never seen anyone bugging her. But thank you!
Having lots of space is great!
Well, then, observe her to see if she's picking at herself. I see some scabs, broken feathers (intact feathers shafts in the skin), feathers that are stripped as well. It's possible she's picking at herself and stripping/breaking her own feathers. Look for lice and mites at night.
Location of the bald area (on the back, toward the tail) is a "classic" feather picking location unless you have an older cockerel that is already trying to mount her.
