6 Week Old Silkie With Swollen Foot

Oh my! It must have been something like a feather cyst.
@Eggcessive or @casportpony may have a better idea.

If you have vet care that is always best.
My thoughts would be to flush it out with betadine. I have a feeling those started feathers that are inside need to be pulled out as well.
Pack with triple antibiotic ointment and wrap.
Soak daily in epsom salts, betadine or chlorhexidine, reapply your ointment.
It may be tricky to heal, but then again, chickens are amazing and can recover from a lot of things.
See how it goes, but I'm one that would be inclined to consider an antibiotic as well, but lets see what the others think.

I agree with what has been suggested so far. None of us are vets, and we can only guess at what is wrong. I would continue soaking the foot in warm Epsom salts daily. I would keep trying to squeeze any pus out, remove any feathers in the wound.

Betadine or Povidone Iodine is sold at Walmart in the first aid aisle as Equate First Aid Antiseptic, and is very good to use with wound care. I would stop the peroxide, since it may prevent wound healing with continued use. Plain Neosporin/Triple Antibiotic Ointment is good to use after treatment.

Since fecal bacteria from stepping in droppings can be a problem, you may want to treat with some antibiotics that treat E.coli as well as staph bacteria. Baytril (enrofloxacin) is one that would work. Dosage of this 10% Baytril product is 0.05 ml per pound:

Thank you ....I removed those feathers after I took the picture I will continue to do as advised and if possible (financially) find a vet if I can’t get it to start healing.

Thank you! All info is greatly appreciated!

I don’t know if this is helpful, but from what I know silkies have 5 toes on each foot and you said there was only 4 on that foot. How many are on the other foot?
Good luck, I hope it gets better!
