6 week pullets and roosters

:welcome Generally a mature rooster will not bother with pullets until they start to mature. Cockerels are another story. Just monitor them and have a 'Plan B' in mind if things go bad. Good luck.

New birds need to be introduced visually before putting them together. Often people use a dog crate in the coop or run or some sort of fence between the newbies and the established flock for several weeks until they get used to each other. Otherwise the older flock could terrorize and injure the newbies.
Are there other hens? A single rooster will need 10 hens or he will be very rough on them. If those pullets are the only others in with him I so not believe they are safe.

Thanks so much. My rooster is one of my favorites but refuses to move to another coop and I free range them during the day.
