I'm beginning to realize as my chicks get bigger, and older which is which. I was agonizinga about being able to tell the boys from the girls. At 6 wks I can tell now thanks to research on here. I have 3 of each. So that means 2 for the pot and 4 to stay. My smallest one turned out to be a boy. I can't believe how big they are now. I can't believe how tiny they were when I first got them, and now they're as tall, if not a little taller than my youngest cats. They are beautiful and I know they're not show quality. The boy I decided to keep has a ton of white in his wings. My almost 4 yr old named him Zuma. My dominant girl I named Madea. She's a pushy little booger. All 6 of these chicks are from Privett Hatchery. The 3 girls are beautiful with their bluish black and silver feathers. All 3 boys have white feathers in their wings but Zuma has the most. They've been in their coop now for almost a week and love the amount of space they have. They have "play" space, eating and drinking space, roosting bars, dust wallows, dirt, grass and concrete, and space to cause general mayhem. Over the last week they have just shot up in size so fast. I'm trying to just keep the weight on them because of how fast they're growing. I've had to put the heat lamp back in with them thanks to stupid weather flips and flops, but if they don't want to be under it they just move. They're crazy at times with all 6 running around in a big circleoover a bug lol. Well as a beginner in the world of Brahma chickens I'll keep posting what I learn about this cool breed of chickens.
