Hoping to get some advice for this baby. Not thriving like the other two, bare spots with no feathers, a lot smaller. Seems to be eating/drinking fine and keeps up with the other two. They are all around the same age (approx 6 weeks) and purchased at the same time. I have been supplementing with powdered niacin in their water and nutritional yeast in their food since the beginning. Any ideas?? 1st time having ducks and love them already! 🙂

Pics: #1 is the baby in question. #2 - all 3 ducks for reference. The other 2 are doing great!

Oh dear, what an honest to goodness cutie pie! Bald spots could be from the others picking on her.
What kind of powdered niacin are you using? Is it timed released or flush free because those don’t work .
Is the duckling in question eating and drinking or do the others bully her away from the food? Oh I see you said she seems to be eating and drinking. Do you have more than one feeding station just in case the others chase her away sometimes it’s good to have extras that are not in the same area but kind of hidden from each other.
I would give her rooster booster poultry cell liquid vitamins it has everything in it

Thank you for your response! The niacin says “with flush” so I’m pretty sure that means not flush free. The others don’t bully or peck on him/her so I really don’t think that’s the issue. Plenty of different food bowls available 🤷‍♀️. I’m just stumped. I’ll will definitely try the rooster booster!

I can't really tell from the photos, but is your duckling crested or is that poof on his head just some feathers that came in early? I have heard crested ducks may take longer to feather out. They are also prone to health issues. I have zero experience with them myself, but might be something to look into. If he's vigorous and keeping up with the other two, I'd just continue giving him lots of good food, greens + peas, nutritional yeast, and love!

I’ve read the same…but not sure what type of duck he is…no info from Atwood’s where he and his 2 friends were purchased. The poof has been there since I got him. I thought it was so cute until I started doing research to try to find out why he wasn’t growing/feathering like the other two! Thank you for your advice 🙂

If that poof has been there since he was a duckling, he's likely a crested duck.
