I have cochin that hatched on Memorial Day weekend (so it's now 6+ weeks old). It *may* be a frizzle - I can't tell based on the one row of wing feathers that it has. Other than that, it has not gotten a SINGLE "real" feather. Still has all of its yellow baby fluff. All of its clutch-mates are feathering normally. Is it just a late bloomer, or should I be worried that something else is going on?

I am new to baby chicks this year, but my two cochins are a bit smaller and have almost all their baby fluff too, where my other girls are feathering out normally. I was wondering the same thing. Do cochins take longer to feather out?

See, I would think it was just cochins - but I have 5 other cochins from the same clutch and they all are feathering normally. Heck, I have 10-day old cochin that has more feathers than the 6-weeker.

I will try to post pics tomorrow. I'm not worried about him/her per se...not yet, at least.
