7.5 week buff brahmas (update think one is a cockerel) now 13 weeks

My 8 week olds have similar coloring--don't know what breed, but i think they're roos, especially after seeing yours with no combs. Check one out:

You can't see the comb very well in this picture, but It's quite distinctive.

I am hoping they are both pullets they are such sweet birds!! #2 has slightly more pink tinge in the comb so I am still on the fence about that one. I can post a pic of the comb close up.

ok here are pics from today. They will be 8 weeks tomorrow. I am pretty confident the one on the right is a girl but the left one is showing a tad more pink even in the waddle area. will 8 week old bantams show a little pink?? Man they are both just sweet as pie. If he is a boy I will keep him as long as possible unless he is a huge crower and my neighbors complain and turn me in

I have no idea, but my cochin boys were very very pink, actually red at 8 weeks and the waddles were very obvious.

Your girls ( I think) are gorgeous.

yours almost look more like mille fleur d'uccles?? I would need to see a better pic to be sure. they are much more rust color than buff

I would say both pullets still. If nothing else, to let you hold them like you are doing in the last pic, they would have to be girls. My boys are way to wide open to do that. The shape of their heads scream pullet, so I hope that this is what you want

Yes I want them both to be pullets. If I didn't live in the city it would be great to have a breeding pair ... Maybe someday I will have a place where roos aren't outlaws!!!!

lol. I do feel your pain though. I live in the city too but I have a farm located in the country so i can have as many roos as I want

they are 13 weeks now and I think I have one of each. I still haven't heard a crow but the one that was on the left that had a tad of pink now is red and getting waddles whereas the other one has nothing still. He is sweet as pie and I'll hold on to him until he starts crowing....hope he doesn't

what do you think??? cockerel????
