I haven't changed food or anything is this normal when hens first start laying?
Thanks for any help

Yep. I only have 2 laying, but that makes it easy to see who is doing what. It took them both about 2 weeks to get it down to a once/day activity.

Look at the protien of your feed. It should be 18% or better if it is not find a new feed. Protien has a big effect on egg laying. 16% is way to low for hens that are laying. If you can not find a higher protien chicken feed buy some cheep cat food that is up there in protien and add it to your feed. you will see a vast imporvment in amount of eggs.
