7 month old Silkie not laying

I just picked her up off of craigslist. She was getting picked on pretty badly from larger chickens and had no other silkies around her. I'm just wondering if she's not laying because of the stress or maybe the absurd temps we've had lately? They were not sure why she hadn't started laying yet, and I'm just concerned she may never lay.

Either way we're going to keep her.

Could be a combination of all those things PLUS the move to her new home is an added stress.

Let her get comfortable and provide a nest box with a dummy egg (golf balls work well) in it and she should be fine.

You may also want to give her vitamins/electrolyte solution in her water to help her with the stress. Yogurt w/live cultures is excellent too.

If you have other birds, keep your new addition in quarantine for at least 30 days, so you are sure she hasn't brought any bugs or germs with her.
