7 week Aussie aracauna crosses with what? Hopefully pullets...?

All those white tips and pencilled feathers will molt out! Mottling (which Speckled Sussex are) also requires two copies so would need two parents exhibiting or carrying it. Hamburgs have rose combs so a first generation cross would likely have a rose comb since they're dominant. The white face is chick down that once shed, will turn dark. I think she may be a second generation mix. I agree that I'm seeing Barnevelder in her but she's mixed with something else that's giving her slate legs. Regardless, those pencilled and mottled feathers you're seeing are baby feathers. They're going to molt out! I've been tricked by them before. I had an extra English Orpington thrown in my order and I saw the pencilled feathers and assumed she was partridge. She grew up, lost all of those feathers and wound up being red 😳

Oh okay. I hope she keeps some patterning. But she's got a great temperament anyway. She darts about like one of my hamburgs, but she's thicker and fatter like a more solid breed. I'll update with photos once she's molted.

11 weeks approximately now. We still think they are both girls.

18 weeks and we believe both girls. We think we have found out what the brown is (because we've found someone else with an almost identical): silver-laced wyandotte welsummer crossed with black copper maran. Both are lovely. Our ee is so slim and upright and the people the eggs originally came from had gamebirds like malay so we think she is ee crossed with malay. They are both friendly and the brown especially so.

I love when I thread is updated! What color did these girls end up laying?
So our salmon-flecked one lays a light-brown egg with faint brown flecks so we think she's got welsummer in her and she sounds very similar to our half welsummer. The bearded one lays white/very light brown eggs. We are unsure but think a possibility is salmon faverolle mix. We thought she was going to be an EE but now we think the faverolle mix...

These girls are gorgeous! And I love how they're sitting by the egg cartons all proud. Like, "yeah, they're mine. I know, they're perfect."
