We have four 7 week old chicks we are hoping for everyone’s opinion on :) their father is a lavender Orpington and the possible mothers are Rhode Island Red and Easter Eggers. I have mixed thoughts about this bunch but hoping for at least one pullet. Our thoughts at the moment are Walnut and Pecan are looking like pullets, Pecky a cockerel, and on the fence with Sparkle Pants. Sparkle Pants has a very small pea comb but the waddles, while flesh colored, are still pretty big for 7 weeks. Thank in advance to everyone!

I agree. So far they're looking like pullets. Watch the combs for rapid development over the next few weeks. At 12 to 13 weeks, males should start showing male specific feathering, so you should know for sure by then.

Just posting a week update on these babies. Not included is Sparkle Pants as there is really no change there. Walnut I feel could go either way at this point. But would love to hear that (hopefully) she is still looking like a pullet for now. Pecky and Pecan don’t show much change.
