7 week old Brahma...

What do ya'll experts think... Light or dark?? (I don't care)
He or she? (I DO care since I can't have roos here in da city)..

Thanks!!!!

Sorry, looks like a male. The pinkish comb and slow feather growth is an indication of his gender.

I noticed 3 rows in the comb and started wondering. The center row is definitely much bigger, the side rows are very thin and kinda hidden by baby feathers. This is my first time with chicks (and never had a Brahma before), so I'm still not sure. It sure has some big feet, too! You can't tell from the pictures because he/she is roosting on my hand.

Anyone else? The farm sold me the chicks as "guaranteed pullets/females"... I'm not ready to take Pearl back just yet!!!!!

I'm fairly confident it's a male, but, if you still aren't sure, wait a couple months. My Brahma cockerel just started crowing, and he's 7 months old. You've got plenty of time to be sure.

My ex Pearl, now Pedro El Grande, is the sweetest boy in the world! He loves to be picked up and carried around, has never ever tried to peck (me or my very curious toddler) and he is gentle with the girls. I really wish I could keep him... But I have to take him to the auction as soon as I hear the first crow :( :(
