I'm hoping you can help me please.
Our 7 week old chicks are currently living quite happily with their Mum's, & our grown up ladies now, but my poor girls are struggling living on chick crumb!
Our Ginger Ninja (escape artist) has started dropping eggs in unusual places without a shell because she has no layers pellets!
I'm not bothered about the eggs, but I'm worried for her, and our old blue Marans welfare. I've read so many things I'm totally confused. They all have grass, worms and finely chopped seedless grapes.
Ideas please?

Do you offer oyster shell free choice?

A lot of us feed an all flock/flock raiser formula year round because we have mixed age flocks. Offering oyster shell is a good way to add calcium to the diet.

If Ginger is struggling, give her a direct dose of vitamins like Poultry Nutri-Drench and 1/2tablet of calcium like Caltrate. There are many causes of laying soft shelled egg. Calcium and vitamin deficiency, illness, stress and disturbances within the flock are a few of the most common causes.

Limit treats to no more than 5-10% of their daily intake depending on the protein content of your feed.

Yes I usually do offer oyster shell, can the chicks have that too?
Thanks for the advice, she's probably stressed due to the new members.
