I have a 7 week old bantam Cochin chick that is not acting quite right. Her breathing seems to "roll" or look heavy, she shakes a lot, and she spends most of her time under the heat lamp. She eats and drinks perfectly fine, but something doesn't seem right. 2 weeks ago I treated the whole brooder with corrid and everyone looks perfect after, except her. She is the smallest, and her beak seems to be growing incorrectly in the past 2 weeks. It ha a gap in the sides. I give her vitamins, ACV in their water, there has been no sneezing, or stumbling. Any ideas what I can do for her? She looks pitiful! Is there any way to fix her beak?

Herb Rx: Natural Remedies for Respiratory Issues in Chickens | Fresh Eggs Daily

Try this link. I am not sure if you go organic like me with the chickens but its really an option. You could try a natural remedy or antibiotics. Also look for more signs and make sure she really does have an issue. The rest of the flock should be fine unless they show symptoms. Finally how hot is the heat lamp it may also be that the chick is panting because it is too hot.

Also try Vet Rx. I think you can use it on chicks, you might want to check on that.

I do everything organic too, even make my own feed. I've been trying herbs for a few days and the garlic too. I'll grab some vetRx tomorrow! Thank you.

Oh, and they have a 100 watt lightbulb in their coop, that's it. It's definitely not hot.
