7 week old chicks food

I feed starter at that age with a few treats like mealworms now and then, but in moderation.

A good balanced feed. The usual path is starter till six to eight weeks, then grower till point of lay or they actually start to lay. then layer. There are low calcium feeds out there that you can use is stead of a grower, all flock or a game bird feed. The feed requirements for a juvenile is the same as full adult. The main difference between starters and growers and other non-layer feed is the level of protein. What feed you use can come down to what is available and you are comfortable with. I would go with a grower now. Stick around and learn what others are doing and maybe the next chicks you may want to do something different.

A balanced starter/grower or grower feed should be all you need. Biggest difference I see in feeds are protein levels. Mine are eating one of Nutrena's Starter/grower products, they'll eat that until it's gone. When they start to lay I will put down some oyster shell for them, then change over to layer feed. I'm trying to make it not too complicated. Mine do get a little fermented alfalfa and some mealworms too, but they're more like treats.

I was wondering if this would be ok to give them

That is fine, but in moderation! They'll scoff the lot if given the chance. Mine go crazy for mealworms and crickets. It's chicken candy.
