7 Week Old Gold Laced Polish Gender

Hello Everyone! I'm a new chicken mom and am excited to be a new member of BYC! I've seen a lot of these kinds of posts and have stared at my 7 week old polish chick until he/she thinks I'm probably crazy

So experts, please give me your opinion! Do I have a Jean-Ralphio or a Josephine Renee'?

It's a toss up. Crest shape looks male, but it has thin legs like a female. I think this one will take more time to show its stripes.

Yours looks bearded, and bearded fowl often don't grow wattles at all, so that is not a good indicator in this case. With non-bearded varieties like white crested black Polish wattles are a good way to judge gender.

Well this is gonna show how much of a novice I am but i had no idea there was a "bearded" polish! That's so cool!

What bakes them bearded?

Questions are good. He's young so his beard is small, and he may just have a small one as an adult. I'll attach a picture of a bearded Polish and a nonbearded Polish to show the difference. Both are adult males.

Hello! Hope everyone is doing well! Happy 4th of July Weekend!

And happy 8 weeks to JR! His or Her crest has grown a lot in the last few days! So I figured I'd post an update!

The front feathers are falling forward and are pointy!

Guesses are welcomed! I just think its so fun!

Just got some new pictures of him yesterday! He was feeling camera shy so I'm going to try to get close ups tomorrow. But here is his current look. His crest is filling out and the front feathers are curling outwards. So I have no idea. Again guesses are welcomed!
