7 week old guinea running backwards??

I just saw my 7 week old guinea take a dust bath ( in damp sand ) and then get up and start " moon walking " very quickly backwards several times. Does anyone know what's going on? The young guinea is acting normal in every other way??

I see this all the time, it is really funny, mine do not stop till they hit something then they run foward then put their head down and do it all over again, funny as all get out.

Why do they do this? i haven't a clue unless they are trying to get another to chase them,chase is a game they play at my place all the time.

It's normal, just enjoy the show.

I wish I had a video of it! I saw mine running backwards a few days ago and laughed till my tummy hurt. There were bugs flying around the brooder hutch and these guys were going nuts.

I'm wondering if it could be a courting behavior?
That video that was posted shows it began when it approached another Guinea.

LOL I've seen mine do this hundreds of times. It reminds me of one of those toys that you pull backwards to wind up and then let go of to go zoominggggggggggggggggggggggg forward. ROFL!!!!!!

I am brand new to guineas so thank you so much for your replies

I started laughing and them started to worry that it might be having some kind of neurological fit when I couldn't find anything in my guinea book about it. I am new to chickens and guineas and I must say I'm kind of obsessed with my 3 guineas

Yep, welcome to the wacky, goonie and halarious world of the Guinea Hens and Cocks.

Mine get on top of the galvanized barn roof and run their butts off back and forth. I guess they think they are musicians in the making.

I just think they make up things to do and the "chase" is one of them. I have seen one chase another and then the tables get turned and the one being chased starts to chase the one that was chasing. Go figure.

I get a chuckle from my Guineas every day. I LOVE my Guineas.
