So ive receive help throughout the past couple weeks but would appreciate more help. I have a light brahma chick that turned 7 weeks old as of this past Tuesday the 18th. I really just need help figuring out definitively whether this is a cockerel or a pullet. As im not positive on sexing breeds that mature at a slower rate. Attached are some recent pics mostly from the 7 week mark but also from 6 weeks too. The comb is a little bit red but not nearly as much growth on it as ive seen with other cockerels around the same age. And the wattles as well are a little hut more red than my standard breed pullets but not as much growth as ive seen on other birds as well. Any and all help is welcome but i would appreciate no “Its a cockerel” with no explanation so feel free to add to the thread but with helpful comments please!

I think more time is needed before sexing the bird will be accurate! I lean towards a pullet though. I have four Light Brahmas but I got them as just short of lay pullets One thing I have noticed on ours is that their combs vary quite a bit in size and shape! Like a lot different! Just my observations on our birds! Hope it helps a bit! Good luck for a pullet! 😊 Oh, one more thing! I think they are a great breed! 😊

Im also leaning pullet because im seeing not hackle or saddle feathers and she also feathered out really early which is a pullet trait if im not mistaken

Yes! Look for more rounded tips on the hackle and saddle feathers! Early feathering could be a factor, might vary by breed though.

Not the best pic but she is a fast one so i can get more pics if need be but this is generally what shes looking like. Compared to pics online her hackles dont resemble a roo

Yes, I would still lean towards a pullet! I think some breeds are just hard to figure for quite a while! I have a couple of Golden laced Wyandotte pullets that I went back and forth on as far as sex of them until they weren`t far from laying!
