7 week old ready for outside ?

I usually have them in the coop by now but I have been holding off because the temps have been low for this time of year. Mid to upper 30s at night too cold ?

Do they have all of there feathers? You may want to look up the breeds temperament to the weather and see if they are good for the cold weather.

If your coop is draft free they'll be fine outside at that age.

Probably depends how many you have (can they keep each other warm) and that they are fully feathered. Make sure they are draft free at night, and probably good.

Fully feathered. Rocks and leghorns.

I was under the impression that you are supposed to wait until they are fully feathered to put them outside, approximately 12 weeks.

Most chicks are fully feathered at 4 to 5 weeks.

A couple of mine are almost fully feathered at three weeks

My Barred Rocks outside at 5 weeks, preening.
It's apparently a communal affair.

ETA; this was late summer and they are pretty much feathered out.

It’s still upper 30s at night yet. I guess I’ll give them a try out tonight
