One of our 7 week old roos is making a gosh awful noise! It sounds like he's really trying to crow! Isn't this way too young???

This is not a great thing as they are still in the house and will be till it gets warmer (and the second coop gets built!) But it does sound funny. We couldn't figure it out at first. Sounded so odd!

Nope, it happens..... He decided he's a man early in life

CONGRATS, LOL !!!!!

Well, he does have an awfully large comb for his still young body! The other roo's comb is maybe 2/3rds the size.

Plus, they are leghorns and I've read that they tend to be a bit more talkative. Maybe that has something to do with it.

He is funny. For a couple weeks now he's taken his job of guarding the girls seriously. He's never pecked me...but boy he goes after whatever it is I'm putting in there. (waterer, food bowl, etc) Hoping he doesn't end up being too aggressive. Having a mean roo on the farm won't do at all. (protective is one thing...chasing after little nieces and nephews is another)

. I have seen people post that they had one trying at 3 weeks old. Try to enjoy the humor of it

We'd have little guys crowing in the basement brooder, and they didn't even have all of their feathers yet! No one follows the rules anymore, it's all abou telling those humans to stay away from your family.

Our little guy tried it at 3/4 weeks old, and it was terrible...
