7 year old chicken laying cracked eggs...

I have a senior citizen hen who still lays almost every day. The last few days she's been laying eggs with star cracks on the pointed end. They get layer feed and I supplement oyster shell. Her eggs even have little bumps of extra calcium. Is she doomed to have an internal broken egg at some point? I've been scrambling her cracked eggs for the chickens and the dogs. I guess this is just a function of her advanced age.

Could be her age. Maybe a softer laying surface? Here's some info about star cracks.

I had a young gal doing that. Added oyster shell and padded the nest-oh and she was laying on top of other eggs so I check the boxes several times a day now and it stopped. Best of luck- cracked eggs make me grrrrrrrrrrrr.
