When I started my chicks the brood box the average temperature was 90°-95° F... I raised the lamp and lowered the temp after a week and keep doing so. Today I noticed that my chicks were all in the shade, all day with their wings spread and feathers flared. The temp was about 80°f.
I moved the brood box onto a table in the spare room and the temp is like 70°F. There is just a chandelier light above them that prob doesn't really put off much heat. Am I on track with this or should they be warmer still? Our snow is just melting but it's still down below freezing at night so can't use the coop just yet. Thx
