70 this year and starting a new hobby

Although I'm clueless about chickens, I'm hoping to start a tiny flock next Spring...we've started to build a chicken run attached to the coop, which was already on the property when we bought our house.

I have in fact, for quite a while, been lurking in the wings, scratching around hoping to pick the brains of the experts and learn as much as possible. Now I'm a member, no longer cooped up alone....

This site is brilliant and I'm so thankful to be able to join BYC!

Welcome! Welcome! I am not a Spring Chicken either but in March I got my first Spring chickens and I am loving them! They are so sweet and so much fun.

I have Buff Orpingtons and silver and gold laced Wyandotte’s. I have d’Uccles Millefleur which are Bantams in the brooder. And I have six bobwhite quail that I bought on impulse. I’m waiting to be able to sex them so I can decide what to do with them.

This board is fun, as you know, and live chickens are even more fun!
