So last week as some of you may know, I brought some Welsummer pullets. Today I found a small speckled dark brown egg in my chicken coop when I let them out, The thing is I believe someone may have planted the egg as my birds dont look old or big enough to be laying eggs.

The egg is a fair size, It has no blood on it but Im 100% sure its a Welsummer egg and where I keep my birds nobody has Welsummers. I've asked my cousin who keeps Barnvelders and he said that he hasn't planted the egg and I believe him.

What do you think?

P.S Ill upload the egg and pictures of the Welsummers later today.
Pictures definitely. What is their age?

I've had pullets start as early as 18 weeks. I am growing up RSLs and they are only 5 weeks now, but they will be early layers as well.

I have an Amberlink that laid right at 16 weeks, suprised me to, she is still small looking, but her egg, was a decent size to! I wouldn't have thought it was her, if I wasn't in their house, my son and I saw her laid it! :)

I think my 15/16 week hen is laying eggs already... we have 3 hens that are laying eggs but I have been getting more eggs than I should be getting fro just 3 layers... and I know who lays what eggs and I am getting an egg that I don't recognize.... Who would have planted an egg in the coop? who would have had an egg from the same kind of bird?

Sorry guys, My cousin did indeed plant the egg. Just told me!
Thanks any ways:)

You better get him back. I think Saran wrap over the toilet works nicely.
Get him good!
