8.5 week old mutt...gender?

wondering what you guys think the gender is of my silkie mutt. It is 8.5 weeks old. Also is it's coloring blue? No comb and no waddles compared to the silkie mix on it's left.

That one looks like a girl. She looks blue but has some silver in the hackle and the breast looks off colored.

I am worried about that pool--I have had silkies and silkie crosses drown in a similar sized pool I have for my duck.

when they are out of their run I am sitting right there so if they fall in I'm to the rescue. Only one of my chicks has taken a swim and now she won't go near the pool. It is pretty shallow it was a sandbox so maybe 4" of water when full and most the time is is more shallow from evaporation. My ducks rarely even go in it. My ducks think they are chickens!!!
