Hello everyone. This is my first year raising chickens and it has been a wonderful experience so far. But I have the typical problem of gender identification.

So here's what I know I have so far, 7 female & 3 male Barred Cochin's and 9 female (fingers crossed) black sex links.

But the rest of my flock are a mystery to me which is what I hope you can help me with. I have what I think are 3 gold sex links. 1 male and 2 unknown. And then These darn Ameraucana chickens have me fooled every time I think I might know what gender they are. So I've done all the reading and noticed all the blogs are saying how everyone says they are the hardest to sex. So rather than do that number here again, I was hoping it would be fun to post some pics and see what you people with experience raising them think as to what there gender is.

This first pic is probably too young to know a gender but I was hoping to verify that its probably another ameraucana chic or no?
This One I believe is a Golden Lakenvelder chic. An extra sent from someone Else's special order. No paint on head I'm hoping its a female.
Here is the line up of the ameraucana chickens I was hoping you can help me with. They are all 10.5 weeks old.

1st one.

2nd one

3rd

And the last pics of the ameraucana's there are two of them. sry these was the best shots i could get before my camera died.

The gold sex links.???? 1St is a male

And here are the other two

If any of you can help me with sexing or if you just enjoyed the pictures i appreciate your time and any thoughts you can give me. Thanks everyone. Steen.

For the chicks:
The first chick looks like a Silver Laced Wyandotte. The second picture is to blurry for me too tell. As for the others I'll let more experienced people help you cause that breed is tricky for me.

I think your first bird might be a easter egger roo.

Second bird, no clue.

3 and 4 are female easter eggers. I don't think you have any ameraucanas.

I have no idea what 5 is. It doesn't have a muff or beard, and is awfully skinny and streamlined. Maybe it's your gold sex link roo.

6 and 7 are more easter egger pullets.

1st gold sex link looks like an easter egger roo.

The last two are also mysteries. pea combs, green legs. I can't help you.

Quite the mix you have there.

I skipped over the chick pics.

Your ten weekers are all easter egger pullets.

Your sex links--where did you get them? The color is right, for a male and two females, but they look NOTHING like hatchery sex links. They're long and gamey looking and the hens have dark legs.

awesome. i can see the first being either of the two. the store i got them from has sold both before this season.

That's great that you think 3 4 6 7 are pullets. I was getting worried.

. The skinny one has always had really long legs and is allot more streamlined like you said. I was wondering if he would just be a bird just disqualified as a official ester egg-er because he lacks the beard.
ha
And as for what i called gold sex links i have no clue other than that was the closest matching Chic's on privett hatchery's web site to what they looked like as day old.

The first chick looks like A Silver Laced Wyandotte, the second one looks like the Golden Lakenvelder...but I can't help with the rest. EE's confuse me!

Goldfinches might have hit the nail on the head. This is off another site, all three of these deomostraite the color diffrences of the ee. I Think i have all three colors. From the hachery i got my ee from they all came with the dark legs. They look just like this white one. Which makes that roo with yellow legs the odd one out. A side note, i maid the assumption that the dark greenish legs just demonstrated/showed that they had the colored egg gene. I maid a newbie assumption the gene showed threw in there skin color i guess. Cheers to hoping this is all true. it will make my m to f ratio very nice.

chick1 SLW, chick2 looks just like my buff brahma, does it have feathered legs? The rest are all EE's, some are beardless but oh what beautiful body shape and poise! I only see the one male (white with rusty wing).
