8 day old chick - What breed is it - RIR ?

Hi,
I was told this chick was a RIR but am no so sure now
It's 8 days old can you help identify it's breed ? - and sex as well if possible

This is definitely not a Rhode Island Red. Where did you get it?

A friend gave me the eggs and i incubated it.
He said they the eggs were RIR.
what breed do you think it is?

I'm not sure what breed it is. The color pattern of the fluff kind of looks like a Welsummer, Speckled Sussex, or a Brown Leghorn, but it is too light. Also, the wing feathers coming in are quite dark. Post more pictures in a few weeks, and I (or somebody else) will be able to more accurately determine the breed.

i would say it could be a welsummer, if the egg was dark brown it is for sure!

It was a brown egg ...Cant say if it was dark brown or not ?

It's the egg on the middle of the row on the left of the picture.

The egg color isnt dark enough to be a welsummer. It looks like an RIR egg, but that chick dosent have the right markings. Maybe it is just a mixed breed.
