8 eggs and 6 chickens

I checked today and got 8 eggs and only have 6 chickens. 2 of the eggs were brown so that means 6 eggs from 3 leghorns. they were all in the same box.
The past week i have been getting 3 eggs a day which is less then usuall.
this never happened before. Didnt think possible.

I thought i checked yesterday, my wife and son say i got eggs yesterday.
Unless my father inlaw is screwing with me.

Sometimes if they did not lay the day before they can lay two in one day. Gloria Jean

Could it be that they covered the eggs up. When I had some laying hens, I saw the egg, came back and it was gone! The next day I found it under shavings in the nest box. I've hear of hens laying 2 in 1 day, but for 3 to do it, thats odd.

Could been covered. Called the wife at work and now cant really say for sure if I checked yesterday or not.

So I am guessing I dont having the egg answer for world hunger, but early dementia, lol

It is funny that you mentioned your father-in law. My Red Stars are now 19 weeks and could start laying any day now. This is my first time BYC and am checking every day. A few days ago I was checking the nests and found an egg. I was very excited, telling the kids, the wife, etc. When we got to the in-laws, whom up til now have been the best! So when we told them, they started smiling and laughing. Sure enough, they planted one egg in my nests as a joke.

The in-laws are now the out-laws. At least for a few days.
