8 month old hen not laying

Good day - We have an 8 month old gold crested cream legbar that has not started laying. We have another legbar hen from the same hatch that has been laying for two months. We love in Arizona, use good quality feed (nutrena) and let them free range during the day. We have checked the free range areas for eggs and have found none. Any thoughts or advice is greatly appreciated.

They mature at their own rate. it's been winter for the majority of her life so those hormones should trigger soon

Yeah, they lay when they lay. I've had pullets start laying at 16 weeks. I've had pullets wait until 9 months to lay their first egg. I've had them start in the long days of summer and some pullets start this time of the year during the shortest days of the year. I understand how frustrating it can be, I did have to wait nine months for some.

Can you check their vents? If a pullet is laying she will have a moist, soft, pink vent. If she is not laying the vent will be tight and dry. The difference is pretty obvious, especially since you have one laying to compare to.
