I have an 8 month old leghorn (I think that’s what she is I’m VERY new to chickens) and I don’t think she’s laying eggs. I also have a barred rock hen and rooster and going by what I’ve seen online the brown eggs I’ve gotten so far are from my barred rock hen. Is this normal or is there something I need to be doing for her?

Are you sure is female? (Just checking, sorry, if I offend you)
With a face/comb that red, I would think she would be laying!

I’ve kind of just assumed it was a girl from some of the google searches I’ve done and seeing that the comb is much smaller than what was pictured on the males lol.

Does she/he/it have pointed or round sickle/hackle feathers? Or the reason she/he/it might not be laying is because she/he/it is just a late layer... but such a red comb...

If that bird is 8 months old it can't be a Leghorn.

It's too big, too blocky, and doesn't have a the huge comb.

This is a 5-month-old California White -- a Leghorn-adjacent breed that is very similar, but a little larger.

And here she is at 8 months.

As other have said above, she fits the description of a White Rock. Some birds lay later than others and those maturing in the winter with decreasing daylight often lay even later.

I see what you’re talking about, the photo I put up was from about 2 months ago. She’s A LOT bigger now 😂
