In the Brooder
Hi all,
First time chicken owner here and first time poster.
I have an 8 week old Silver Laced Wyandotte "Scratchy" . She/He has a fairly pronounced comb already ( why we suspect it's a roo). Anyways, its comb has been pretty red looking, but today I noticed that the top part of its comb looked white. We're in MA...it's June. Weather's been relatively warm...definitely have not had any freezing temperatures at night so I don't think its frostbite which is one of the common results I found with my online searches. But we have had some cool nights so I don't know if that would cause something like this.
The other chicks don't show any similar signs, but none of the others has as pronounced a comb as Scratchy's.
Anyone have any ideas what could cause this? Pictures included, first is what comb looked like today and second is its color about 8 days ago.
Thanks in advance!
