8 week old cochin roo/ hen

So I am officially 8 weeks into this chicken thing, and believe I have a roo on my hands. s/he is the only straight run of my 5. I think Nelli/ Ned is not a full bred cochin as s/he has some red coloring on the blue body, and I dont have another chick to compare her to. As the same story goes we cant have roos in d' city! My children will be devestated, so I want to ease them into the idea that we will have to send her back to the farm. Before the crow starts!

Rooster. I'm guessing she came from black & blue Cochin parents and one carried the red gene.

Thanks! I contacted the guy I bought him from and he concurred as well. Hoping I can switch a roo for a pullet somewhere in south carolina!
