I have 2 GLW’s & this one has a much brighter comb & waddles than my other. I bought as a pullet but I’m thinking roo. Ideas?

Thank you! That’s reassuring! I had a few people tell me that she was looking more rooish & since I have horrible luck getting roosters, it wouldn’t surprise me if she was. Lol

My GLWs were always keeping me on my toes as to whether or not they were boys. I am happy to say that those are two wonderful little ladies you have there! Boys will have green tail feathers and the pullets do not. Have fun raising them!

Hate to disagree with you there, but any black on any bird of any species will sheen green. My GLW Hen has a primarily black tail that sheens green. Its simply not a male/female trait.

Very true, I have two Rhode Island Red bantys that have sheen green. But I’m new to this breed & do not know the characteristics of a pullet or roo

Like any other chicken; a large, red comb and wattle at an early age (before 16 weeks) is indicative of a cockerel. Saddle feathers will start to come in around 12 weeks or so.
