8 week old higher in pecking order than adult?

Well I just watched my innocent little 8 week old silkie peck my 2 year old hen. The two year old hen backed down and ran away. I introduced the 8 week old to my flock 2 days ago. Is that normal for a baby to chase away the adult?

My very very limited experience with the 5 week olds I have now is that hens can be amazingly tolerant of the babies. Give it another week and she might not be running any more. I had a 4 week old challenge my top hen and while she didn't run or anything, she let it go a LOT longer than I'd have expected her to before even giving it the stink eye.
