I've been thinking this lavender/self-blue Ameraucana was a pullet for awhile, but now at about 7-8 weeks old, I'm thinking that maybe it's a cockerel. The upper part of the pea comb is more raised now and while not as pink as the one that I'm sure is a roo, it does look like it's getting pinker under the gray coloring. I think I can see the 3 rows of "peas", but I have read that you can sometimes see this also with pullets. In the last photo with the 3 birds (siblings) you can see the bottom bird is clearly a young cockerel, as his comb started to pink up and get raised about 5-6 weeks. The bird in question is in the middle. The black one has a very flat comb and is flesh colored. The bird in question is also challenging the little roo a lot, so wondering if that isn't another sign.

Hm...wait and see, I say.
I will try and get a photo tonight when I put them in for the night. I'd really like for her to be a pullet, but it seems like her comb is getting pinker and I feel like 7-8 weeks old is too young for a pullets comb to be developing like that. He/she has also been kicking the little roos butt lately and I know they are maybe just working out pecking order (it's just the two of them this age, I sold the black sisters), it seems a bit brutal :hmm

Here are a few more photos I took this evening. She'll be 9 weeks old in a few days, assuming it is a she........does she still look like a pullet?
