8 week old layer!!!!!!!!!! Pics up !!!!!

In chicken houses they leave the lights on to make them eat more. If chickens don't know the difference in night and day they eat all the time. We have a number of commercial chicken houses on our road and you would not believe what those chickens look like after being confined to a Chicken House for several months. Most of the layers I have seen come out with no feathers whatsoever. We have layers on one end and fryers on the other.

I wonder if something isn't sneaking in and using the facilities. if there isn't any posible way for that to happen, then...woo hoo!! Congrats on the early eggs, hee hee, wouldn't it be cool if you oculd start a breed of chickens that lay as early as quail?

i totally believe you bryan8. i have Red Sex Links and they are laying machines. Mine didn't start that early, but i think one of them did start at about four months. i also had several occasions of getting more than 8 eggs a day from my 8 chickens. No one believed me, but it was true.

As for the eggs, i do get fart eggs on occasions from several of my chickens. They look just like those, in varying colors. They don't always come out exactly the same color as what the hen usually lays, except in the case of my EE.

Please keep us posted. Would be cool to find out which hen it is.

I'm inpressed!

I have 4 15 week old icea browns hens and one rooster and I, well not really me but Cayleb my 10 mo old corgi puppy found a egg today when he went in to the chicken pen to check it out...

I thought he had a duck egg but when I took it from him, it was not from the duck... then I went and looked more and found 2 more..

then later my cousins kids were in the pen and found 2 more in a different place, so maybe 3 from today and 2 from yesterday,

I don't know I did not look yesterday and would not have seen them today unless Cayleb not found them.. Told hubby I needed nest boxes- he said oh no not yet...

Wow I know they are egg laying machines but WOW! Mine started at 16weeks. Started out small, ping pong ball size, now are big and pretty
