8 week old layer!!!!!!!!!! Pics up !!!!!

crap i have sex links too (9wksabout), i noticed that the combs were turning pnik/redish and little wwattles? are coming in now... i thought i had till sept to build those nest boxes! congrats on the eggs!!!

My suppose to be Brown Leghorn which is a RIR started laying at 3.5 months and I get 6 eggs a week from her without fail. One of my BO started laying 2 weeks later @ 4 months of age and I only get a few eggs a week from her.
Stranger things have happened.....

How exactly do you go about force feeding a chicken?

Well..one time long time ago I read some article about some commercial outfit that force-fed some kind of bird to make them have 'fatty' livers, as they were in the 'pate' business. Please excuse my spelling, I just faintly remember the article. I remember thinking how horribly cruel it was.
Does anybody have Light Brahmas that are laying? If so, have any of them laid a 'triple' yolk egg? The hen that laid the 'triple' yolk egg for me has laid 3 more eggs, and they are about medium size, but all have double yolks. Do you know if that means the hen will continue to lay the double yolk eggs, or a combination of triple/double, or will she eventually just lay a regular 1-yolk egg? I'm surprised an egg that small can come out of a chicken that is so huge!! But they are beautiful and tasty, also.

put them in the incubator. See what hatches then you will know who's laying the egg. Thats if its even fertile

It's Ducks. Ever see foie gras on a menu? It's duck liver. They force feed them with tubes down their throats to fatten their livers. It's pretty brutal.
