Hello!

I've heard leghorns are fast developers that are easier to sex at a young age. My question, then, is a fast is fast? I have two 8 week old brown leghorns. One I know is a pullet, as she has just a tiny yellow comb. However, the other has a larger comb, maybe 3/16" tall, that is mostly yellow with pink on the bottom. A roo would be red by now, right?

Thanks!

Need pictures.

I think second one is boy.Check his Chest-supposed to be mostly black feathers;girls chest will be mostly light brown

Sorry... I don't have any current pics. I'm mostly operating on gestalt here, knowing that the only assurance she's a she is an egg!

If they are brown leghorns, you should be able to tell by their feathering as they age. The males should have black feathers on their chests where the females will have a patterned brown feather.
