8 Week old mystery chick

Calling all chicken experts. What is this? I got it for free at McMurray's.

No to the roo. If it is 8 wk, then it should have MUCH more comb and wattleage if a roo...as to breed, you're asking in the wrong section

I'll say it's a dark brahma cockeral. They are slow to develop, and since the tail is kinda short yet.
Could be a dark brahma pullet?

I'd second the guess of Dark Brahmas as the most likely breed.

That is a (sorry) VERY poor quality Dark Brahma cockerel - The pullets have grey and black pencilling. The cockerels will be black and white, but not like that. . I'd say it is one of Murray McMurray's seriously mossy Brahmas.

Keep in mind that the brahmas develop slowly and have a pea comb. I'll stick with dark brahma cockeral. It has the stance of a brahma male.

Opps, apparently my lil roos are special that I can tell for certain so early....never seen a dark Brahma
