8 week old roo makes popping sound when chirping..

I have two eight week old roosters and one makes a popping sound when he chirps. He is outside with no heat lamp. I haven't noticed any sneezing, eats and drinks and acts normal other than the popping sound. I don't want to jump to using antibiotics unless needed that is why I wanted to ask. My biggest fear is its something contagious that will spread or kill my flock( but I tend to go worst case scenario).

He has a damaged air sac. As long as he is not puffing up like a blowfish, then he should heal in time. A lot of time, unfortunately. These injuries take forever to heal.

In the interest of full disclosure I will say that I have never actually had a bird heal from an air sac injury, but it is theoretically possible. All my injuries were extreme, though, and both birds had air leaking under the skin.
